Dinner at Conti's

It was my hubby's birthday and we decided to have dinner at Conti's in Serendra. My first time to eat at that location though I have already dined at their Greenbelt branch. We arrived around quarter to 7 and the place was already full. I thought it was a bit small, with a few people on the side of the door waiting for their 'take-outs'. Good thing we were not on the waiting list since they have a small table available. Just enough for the three of us - me, hubby and our little kiddo.

This is what I had:
Salmon Salpicao - P295
Hubby's:
Grilled Porkchops - P270
My li'l princess's:
Cheesy Baked Macaroni - P95
I find my salmon salpicao great since I can really taste the garlic. And it is salmon, so you really cannot go wrong with the fish. Unless it's overcooked. Hubby's porkchop couple was kind of okay according to him, but would not order that again.hehe. My li'l kid also did not like her baked macaroni much, or maybe she is just biased since she so loves Racks' mac 'n cheese.
Overall, the food was good. Not absolutely great, but not bad at all. =) So that gives us a chance to try out their other entrees next time.

Saturday Night Dinner

This is somewhat part 2 of my Petra & Pilar post, not having a lot of luck on a Saturday night. Why you ask? After spending the whole day malling, we decided to finally visit Petra & Pilar for dinner. Off we go, quite sure where it is now, but found the facade poorly lit with 2 guards chatting outside and dining chairs all upside down. Oh well... Sad to say, the resto-carinderia is closed on Saturdays. Hmmm... wonder why. Better luck next time.

Then we decided for an alternative, Racks. That puts a smile on my face. :-)
We ordered the house specialties - a full slab of the Baby Back Ribs and a half rack of beef ribs.
We had baked beans, baked potatoes and mac & cheese for side dish. Even ordered an extra mac & cheese for my daughter, who just loves it! The barbecue sauce botlle was full when we got to our table on the 2nd floor, and just laughed it out when we left it half empty on our way out. The best barbecue sauce there is. I'm not just so sure if they still sell it, like before. But getting it for like P250 is all worth it, I tell you. That made my hubby ask for an extra rice... :-)
Another happy dinner...

Carinderia - Who is Petra & who is Pilar?

Oh gosh, I would wanna share this hilarious experience we had just to find Petra & Pilar. Read on...It was shared to us by a couple of our Titas when they purchased their famous 'corned beef' at the Saturday market, Salcedo Park. We had it for merienda paired with ciabata bread. Saying they got the address from a newspaper, off we went last rainy Sunday afternoon, planning to get a sumptuos dinner at the said 'carinderia'. You know what?!? They got the address 2311, instead of 2111. As you would expect it, we were searching for the place around the Mantrade area. Yeah, I know we're way off the right location. We had to do a few u-turns and breaks just to ask if they ever heard about Petra & Pilar. Hmmm... people we've asked definitely didn't hear the names yet. Until it took us about an hour, so exhausted, we ended up eating at a Japanese resto within the vicinity we were in. Sad and frustrating...And then one sunny day, I found my way walking the sidestreet near Makati Med to get a document certified, and guess what?!? I found the 'carinderia'. The least expected time. So it was just there all along. It was funny, thinking that we were on the other end of Pasong Tamo looking for the spot.haha! So we're planning to eat out this weekend, where else..... to finally meet Petra & Pilar. :-)

Mother's Day

It was a typical Sunday, it's just that it's especially for me-us-mothers!
Because my hubby had a basketball schedule at 11am, family day was moved a little later. I met my Titas with my daughter at Glorietta and the mall was just jampacked with families from all over, trying to enjoy the day. I have walked past a few restos and oh wow, long queue for the diners. To avoid cramping up with the others, we ended up eating at the FoodChoise. Only had wraps for lunch, and just ate the extra pasta from Tita P. Gotta watch that diet, even I know that a wheat wrap won't help with mayo on the chunky chicken and the hot sauce from the pasta. Oh well, can't help myself, I just love it. Yum! :-)
Spent almost an hour at Timezone with my daughter, gosh, she wouldn't miss it every Sunday! After a few turns, I decided to buy 2 mini cheesecakes for my mom and my mom-in-law. Flower is overrated, plus, extra expensive for the occasion, that's why I decided to get a piece of the sweet little things. It's sugar-free, so it won't hurt that much.hehe.
Have to rest for a while, so I took a nap before hitting the dinner table. And what's for dinner? Guess what!?! My hubby treated us to Racks! The best ribs in town! And I totally agree. My daughter also loved their mac & cheese, and I'm definitely looking forward for the next. Omg, imagine the calories for the day. Sigh!
